{"id":632598,"date":"2026-06-11T06:52:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T06:52:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/632598\/"},"modified":"2026-06-11T06:52:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T06:52:08","slug":"the-grand-budapest-hotel-painting-made-in-dorset-goes-on-display","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/632598\/","title":{"rendered":"The Grand Budapest Hotel painting made in Dorset goes on display"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Taylor requested a model, so that the painting was made &#8220;as a real portrait&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Young actor Ed Munro ended up sitting for him at the Jacobean style Hanford School in Child Okeford during the summer holidays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Munro, who is now a dancer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DHv2YeoyNlw\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=1\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">posted about his experience on Instagram, external<\/a> and called the painting going on display a &#8220;surreal full-circle moment&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Taylor said he had seen it &#8220;all over the place&#8221; &#8211; on iPhone cases, clocks, tote bags and even tattoos.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Of course, I&#8217;m not allowed to market it at all because I had to sign a Hollywood contract that virtually forbade me from doing anything.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The artist said he considered the fame of his creation &#8220;a stroke of luck&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It&#8217;s the only film prop I&#8217;ve ever done,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It&#8217;s reached cult status apparently &#8211; the film is very culty, I think in the Wes Anderson universe this is considered one of the special ones.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Taylor requested a model, so that the painting was made &#8220;as a real portrait&#8221;.
