{"id":633121,"date":"2026-06-11T13:32:07","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T13:32:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/633121\/"},"modified":"2026-06-11T13:32:07","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T13:32:07","slug":"canelo-alvarez-tells-hamzah-sheeraz-who-he-must-face-to-earn-a-shot-at-him","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/633121\/","title":{"rendered":"Canelo Alvarez tells Hamzah Sheeraz who he must face to &#8216;earn&#8217; a shot at him"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/hamzah-sheeraz-2\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hamzah Sheeraz<\/a> is hoping to secure a shot at <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/canelo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Canelo Alvarez<\/a> in 2027, but the Mexican has made it clear what the Brit must do to land the fight.<\/p>\n<p>Sheeraz knocked out Alem Begic to claim the vacant WBO throne last month, whilst Canelo is attempting to reclaim the WBC super-middleweight crown in September, when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/boxing\/story\/_\/id\/48640380\/canelo-alvarez-face-christian-mbilli-wbc-belt-sept\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">he takes on Christian Mbilli in an intriguing Las Vegas scrap<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Should Canelo regain the WBC marble, Sheeraz is eyeing up Canelo\u2019s regular Cinco De Mayo outing for a potential 168lb unification affair, planning on announcing himself as the super-middleweight to beat by overcoming the division\u2019s poster boy.<\/p>\n<p>However, speaking with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@daznboxing\/video\/7649860844628561166?is_from_webapp=1&amp;sender_device=pc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">DAZN Boxing<\/a>, Canelo stated that, if Sheeraz wants to face him, then he should look to unify the belts against newly crowned IBF world champion, Osleys Iglesias, in order to entice him into the proposed fight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never checked that [potential fights with Hamzah Sheeraz or Osleys Iglesias]. I think that they need to fight each other and then I find out the winner. That is the most smart thing that they can do.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all, at some point, we need to earn what we deserve, right? They need to earn it [a fight with me], why not?
