Rescuers were called to assist emergency services with a gully ‘extraction’ after crash. It was one of a number of call-outs, the North East Wales Search and Rescue team were called to, in a matter of days.<\/p>\n

The team said its members were called out twice a day on consecutive days this week to assist emergency service partners in highly challenging environments.<\/p>\n

The incidents also required volunteers to negotiate steep woodlands and a quarry to rescue casualties in need of urgent care.<\/p>\n

A Newsar statement released yesterday (Thursday) said: “It has been a busy few days for NEWSAR, with two callouts on each of a couple of days this week.” Sign up for the North Wales Live newsletter<\/a> sent twice daily to your inbox<\/p>\n

“All callouts involved assisting Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS<\/a> Trust (WAST) with the extraction of patients from challenging locations, with WAST providing the primary patient care at each incident.<\/p>\n

“The first task involved supporting a medical incident and extracting a casualty from a steep wooded area, followed by a second extraction from a quarry. NEWSAR then assisted North Wales Police<\/a> and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service \/ Gwasanaeth T\u00e2n ac Achub Gogledd Cymru with a rope-system extraction from a gully at a road traffic collision.<\/p>\n

“The final callout involved helping to access and extract a casualty with a lower leg injury in difficult terrain.<\/p>\n

“NEWSAR is a completely voluntary team, and we are proud to support our emergency service partners.<\/p>\n

“Our team of volunteers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days responding to those in need throughout Flintshire<\/a>, Denbighshire<\/a>, Wrexham<\/a> & parts of Conwy<\/a> & Powys.”<\/p>\n
