Emmerdale shares an update on Steph Miligan tonight, as viewers are warned not to expect her back in the village anytime soon.<\/p>\n

As Ruby and Caleb’s absent daughter plays a key role in a new storyline, it seems that we shouldn’t get our hopes up for an in-person appearance.<\/p>\n

When Ruby pays a visit to The Woolpack, she notes how much Caleb misses having Steph around.<\/p>\n

Chas questions whether Steph will ever come back, but Ruby replies: “I doubt it. She’s all settled now. She’s got a new bloke. They’re off on holiday in Thailand. Don’t tell Caleb she’s there. She doesn’t want him to know \u2013 he worries!”<\/p>\n

Steph was last seen in the village in August 2025<\/a>, when she took an extended trip to Italy to get away from her troubles.<\/p>\n

At the time, Steph had looked set to work things out with her on-off love interest Ross Barton, but she felt betrayed when she found out that he’d kept quiet about a one-night stand he had with Manpreet Sharma after they’d broken up.<\/p>\n

In real life, Georgia Jay \u2013 who played Steph \u2013 went on maternity leave last year<\/a>. Then in April this year, it was reported<\/a> that she’d decided not to come back at the moment, preferring to concentrate on being a mum rather than returning to a full-time soap schedule.<\/p>\n

Steph is gone but not forgotten, as tonight’s episode sees mischievous teenager Archie Breckle create a fake AI version of her voice<\/a> to scam Caleb.<\/p>\n

Caleb is duped when the AI Steph claims to be in London, where she supposedly needs \u00a35,000 for a flat deposit. He quickly sends over the cash, unaware that it’s heading straight for a fraudulent account that Archie has opened.<\/p>\n

If only Caleb knew that Steph is having a ball in Thailand, not dealing with the stresses of a house move in London\u2026<\/p>\n

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
