\n\tJeremy Strong\u2019s take on Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg officially debuted with the launch of the first trailer<\/a> for Aaron Sorkin<\/a>\u2018s \u201cThe Social Reckoning<\/a>,\u201d a follow-up to 2010\u2019s \u201cThe Social Network<\/a>.\u201d Sorkin won an Oscar for his screenplay of the first movie and returns to write and replace David Fincher as the director of the new film. He recently told Vanity Fair<\/a> that he spent three days trying get Jesse Eisenberg<\/a> back as Zuckerberg.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI felt like it belonged to him, and he was certainly battle-tested,\u201d says Sorkin of originally wanting Eisenberg to reprise his Oscar-nominated role. \u201cHe simply did not want to be conflated with Mark Zuckerberg anymore, that he has his problems with the guy. He doesn\u2019t like kids coming up to him in airports with business cards that say \u2018I\u2019m CEO, bitch\u2019 for him to sign.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPer Vanity Fair<\/a>: \u201cCoincidentally, it was at the\u00a02025\u00a0Vanity Fair\u00a0Oscar Party\u00a0that Sorkin first mentioned to Eisenberg that he had a script that he wanted him to read. Just a few minutes later, at that same party, he ran into Jeremy Strong, who asked Sorkin what he had been up to, and Sorkin told him about the script. Strong indicated that if Eisenberg wasn\u2019t interested, he would be.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tEisenberg said as much himself in an interview last year with BBC Radio 4\u2019s \u201cToday.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0The actor said he was not keeping up with Zuckerberg\u2019s life because \u201cI don\u2019t want to think of myself as associated with somebody like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s not like I played a great golfer or something and now people think I\u2019m a great golfer,\u201d he explained. \u201cIt\u2019s like this guy that\u2019s doing things that are problematic \u2014 taking away fact-checking and safety concerns, making people who are already threatened in this world more threatened.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Social Reckoning\u201d centers on Facebook engineer Frances Haugen (Mikey Madison) and Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz (Jeremy Allen White), whose reporting exposed the company\u2019s internal research and decision-making.
