campaigners warned the Scottish Government and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde\u00a0(NHSGGC) that the building will \u2018close by default\u2019<\/a> if funding is not delivered to make the building watertight.\n<\/p>\n\n Alongside the improvements to sanitary facilities, the ward\u2019s nurses\u2019 station and doctors\u2019 room will also receive repairs.\n<\/p>\n
\n The health board says that during the refurbishment period, disruption to services supplied by the J North ward will be \u2018minimal\u2019 as the section of the building is temporarily closed with arrangements made for patients to be accommodated in another area of the hospital.\n<\/p>\n
\n The health board says the works will \u2018enhance patient care and staff facilities\u2019.\n<\/p>\n
\n Iona Scott, interim director of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde\u2019s Clyde sector, which includes the IRH said: \u201cThese improvement works at our J North ward are a welcome investment and will benefit both patients and staff.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
