Katie Boulter is back in action at Queen’s today, having been handed a wildcard entry to the summer tournament and start of the grass court season in London.<\/p>\n
The Brit will face eighth seed Leylah Fernandez in the opening round, which would see her come up against world No 2 Elena Rybakina in the third round if she advances through her two first matches.<\/p>\n
Boulter, currently the British No.3, will reignite her partnership with Emma Raducanu in the doubles, with “Boulter-canu’ set to get some valuable game-time under their belts ahead of Wimbledon next month.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the moment, Queen\u2019s is the perfect place for us to get some matches and some time on the grass,” Boulter said in the build-up to Queen’s.<\/p>\n
\u201cI really enjoyed my time last year playing with her; it was super fun, but also we both really wanted to win and had one goal in mind.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really nice to play with Katie,\u201d Raducanu said, speaking to the press ahead of the HSBC Championships.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe try to make Queen\u2019s our tournament that we play together. I don\u2019t play doubles very often, but the experience last year was really fun.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had a full Court 1 watching and supporting us and it was really fun. I\u2019m excited to hopefully do it again this year and the opportunity to play with her on a home court.\u201d<\/p>\n
Boulter is set to tie the knot with world number six Alex de Minaur later this year.<\/p>\n
They announced their engagement back in December 2024.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe bumped into each other at six in the morning and ended up getting a coffee,\u201d she said of the pair’s first meeting.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom that moment, I knew I was in it for the long haul.\u201d<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, she shared some brief details about their upcoming wedding.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve not been a massive dreamer about my wedding,\u201d Katie said to The Telegraph. \u201cAs long as my family are there, I\u2019ll be happy.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI did sort of dream about a destination wedding,\u201d she added. \u201cHaving a place you can go back to that\u2019s your place. So it\u2019s possible it\u2019ll be in the middle of nowhere.\u201d<\/p>\n
de Minaur has previously said they won’t be marrying in his native Australia or the UK, while he has also added he has been involved in the prep for the big day.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a 50-50 relationship, so honestly, the fact that we\u2019re both tennis players [means] we are both doing as much as we can together,\u201d he said. \u201cI have been making some of the decisions so far. But when it comes to the details like napkins and flowers, that\u2019s not my forte.\u201d<\/p>\n
The pair have emerged as one of tennis’ power couples and have a combined net worth of between $5million and $6.5million, according to Celebrity Net Worth estimates.<\/p>\n
Boulter spoke earlier in his career about being diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome which robbed her of 12 months of her career.<\/p>\n
Back in 2018 she said she \u201cstruggled to live her everyday life, let alone train\u201d, revealing she had been diagnosed in 2016.<\/p>\n
She added: \u201cI hope I encourage people to do sport, and for those who have similar conditions to me, inspire them. It can be a career for them. I hope they see what I\u2019ve achieved and realise they can do it, or do whatever they want to \u2014 that they can achieve their dreams.\u201d<\/p>\n
