Photo: Supplied<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition being displayed in the venue\u2019s Angear Visitor Centre, situated on Nottingham\u2019s University Park Campus.<\/p>\n<p>A contemporary painter and graduate of De Montfort University and the Royal College of Art, Fleur uses oil paint to build and erase layers, creating an uncertain atmosphere from images of architectural spaces she has never actually visited.<\/p>\n<p>She says she is drawn towards imagery that feels both familiar and unfamiliar, with her interests driven by an ongoing sensitivity to displacement and the experience of being between spaces.<\/p>\n<p>The artist said: \u201cThe paintings explore what it means to exist between memory and invention, familiarity and estrangement. Photo: Supplied<\/p>\n<p>Her work has been shown at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition in London and internationally, including Galerie im K\u00f6rnerpark in Berlin and Pier 92 in New York.<\/p>\n<p>She has also received the Zurich Contemporary Painting Prize, the Amlin Painting Award, and the Desmond Preston Drawing Award, and was a finalist for the Jackson&#8217;s Painting Prize in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Between Somewhere and Nowhere runs at Lakeside Arts until July 19.<\/p>\n<p>It is the largest presentation of work produced in Patrick\u2019s Newark studio to date, bringing together paintings developed over a five year period.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"rthmb\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns=\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"0 0 482 351\" alt=\"Between Somewhere and Nowhere brings together five years worth of paintings created in the artist's Newark studio.
