Former Superman actor Dean Cain<\/a> had a meltdown while trying to defend himself and President Donald Trump\u2019<\/a>s aggressive immigration enforcement after becoming a target for public mockery for joining ICE.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe idea that somebody who is not trained would join ICE and join these guys that are putting on masks and jumping out of U-Hauls at a Home Depot and nabbing people, like, it\u2019s a horrible policy. It is un-American,\u201d The Bulwark\u2019s Tim Miller<\/a> said Monday on \u201cPiers Morgan<\/a> Uncensored.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cain has been made the butt of many jokes for his decision. Multiple people online have pointed out the irony<\/a> that an actor who played Superman in the \u201990s TV series \u201cLois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman\u201d would be joining an agency making constitutionally questionable arrests. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, late-night comedians such as John Oliver<\/a> and Bill Maher have poked fun at ICE\u2019s desperation<\/a> in hiring the former actor.<\/p>\n

Despite the criticism, the 59-year-old Cain praised the agency. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re going out and you\u2019re villainizing myself. You\u2019re going out and you\u2019re villainizing these ICE agents who are trying to uphold the law. These are wonderful men and women,\u201d Cain told Morgan. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Miller, a former GOP political strategist, piled on Cain as well, taking a jab at his acting history while defending migrants who now fear deportation when going through legal channels<\/a> to remain in the United States.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey came through a legal process and now we\u2019ve got ICE agents, and apparently former Superman actors are going to jump out of vans and nab them and hold them in deportation cells,\u201d Miller said. \u201cThat\u2019s insane. Like, that\u2019s not how you act in a free country.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said he believes Cain \u201cwants to turn the country into something that looks more like an authoritarian country,\u201d and that ICE does not need more agents, especially \u201cmore untrained actors as agents.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cain took offense to being called \u201cuntrained,\u201d stressing his law enforcement background and claiming Miller was \u201cdenigrating\u201d him because of his acting history.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s ridiculous,\u201d Cain said. \u201cShould I say because you\u2019re a former Republican strategist, you have no say on anything? That\u2019s baloney.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the panel discussion, Miller questioned Cain about whether, if he showed up at someone\u2019s home as an ICE agent, he would know what rights they had. <\/p>\n

Cain responded, \u201cI\u2019m not an ICE agent yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo yeah, you\u2019re an untrained former actor,\u201d Miller said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a former actor,\u201d Cain said, getting visibly agitated. \u201cI\u2019m a former professional football player, too. So, want to run down your resume? I mean, it\u2019s so stupid.\u201d <\/p>\n

Miller went on to grill the former actor some more about joining ICE, but Cain, frustrated with the line of questioning, told the Bulwark writer, \u201cThis is ridiculous. I\u2019m not a sworn ICE agent yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, you were saying you were happy to jump out of vans and start apprehending people.
