{"id":638201,"date":"2026-06-14T12:09:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-14T12:09:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/638201\/"},"modified":"2026-06-14T12:09:14","modified_gmt":"2026-06-14T12:09:14","slug":"grenfell-tower-nine-years-after-the-fire-questions-remain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/638201\/","title":{"rendered":"Grenfell Tower: Nine years after the fire, questions remain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Grenfell United, a campaign group of survivors and bereaved families of the Grenfell Tower Fire, said in a statement released on the ninth anniversary that the community &#8220;is still fighting for the justice, accountability and change we were promised&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It said: &#8220;In the aftermath of Grenfell, governments stood before the country and promised that lessons would be learned, accountability would follow and no community would ever again experience such a preventable tragedy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Yet nine years on, too many promises remain unfulfilled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Governments have changed, ministers have come and gone, but the urgency and meaningful action survivors and bereaved families were promised have too often failed to materialise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Most painful of all is the continued delay to criminal justice.
