Gina Kim and Yana Wilson teamed up to win the Dow Championship on Sunday for their first LPGA Tour titles, closing with an eight-under 62 in the foursomes for a two-stroke victory.<\/p>\n

The winning pair finished 17-under par overall at Midland Country Club, Michigan, ahead of Hyo Joo Kim and Hye-Jin Choi, who shot 65 in their final round.<\/p>\n

“I haven’t been in a leading position for a long time,” the 19-year-old Wilson said. “Even as a team, I feel like both of us haven’t been in this leading position.<\/p>\n

“We walked down 18 just now and we were like: ‘Does this feel weird to you? Like this is so weird.’<\/p>\n

“So it’s a little nervy out there. I feel like we handled it really well.”<\/p>\n

Kim, 26, won in her 64th start on the LPGA Tour, while Wilson was making the ninth start of her rookie season.<\/p>\n

Last year, Wilson – the 2022 USGA Girls’ Junior winner – was second and Kim third on the Epson Tour money list to earn LPGA cards.<\/p>\n

“Part of the reason I asked Yana to be my partner is we actually played in the final group on Epson and we’ve played together numerous times,” Kim said. “So, I knew she was really, really good under pressure and I trusted her.”<\/p>\n

Defending champions, Somi Lee and Jin Hee Im, shot 61 to tie for third place at 14 under with Alison Lee and Lilia Vu (64).<\/p>\n

Juli Inkster – who at 65 became the oldest player in LPGA history to make the cut in an official event – teamed up with Angel Yin to tie for 12th at nine under, after shooting 64 on Sunday.<\/p>\n

“We had an amazing time,” Inkster said. “Angel played amazing.”<\/p>\n

Nelly Korda, fresh off a victory at the US Women’s Open and a second-straight major triumph, and team-mate Olivia Cowan tied for 17th at eight-under par after rebounding from a third-round 76.<\/p>\n

The LPGA Tour stays in Michigan for the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give at Blythefield Country Club from June 18-21, while the next Ladies European Tour event is the Dutch Ladies Open from June 19-21.<\/p>\n
