Big Truck, the new band recently formed by Soft Play<\/a>\u2018s Laurie Vincent, have announced their debut album \u2018Midday At The Middleway\u2019 with new single \u2018Collided\u2019.<\/p>\n

Vincent is joined by Sam Coppins on drums, Asa Thallon on guitar, and Justin Myles on keys in Big Truck, whose new album is set to arrive on August 28 via Marshall Records \u2013 you can pre-order\/pre-save it here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Having already previewed it with 80s indie-inspired \u2018Central Reservation Blues<\/a>\u2019, Vincent said their new waltzy post-punk\u00a0offering \u2018Collided\u2019 is one of his favourites from the forthcoming record.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy musicianship is quite untrained, and I didn\u2019t even realise I was writing it in 6\/8 time,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s the kind of stuff that\u2019s been allowed to shine on this record, because it\u2019s a full band and Sam\u2019s jazz background helps those moments to work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Coppins also heaped praise on Vincent, saying the song had a distinct quality that was \u201ca snapshot into how good Laurie is\u201d. He added that it \u201cscratches the surface of what he is going to reveal as a result of this project.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Big Truck is formed around their longtime friendship, with the two meeting as part of the Tunbridge Wells music scene 20 years ago.
