Well this is a rather interesting rumour, isn’t it?<\/p>\n

A new report from MP1st<\/a> claims that CD Projekt Red has an unannounced co-op action RPG in the works at a currently unconfirmed studio \u2014 and it’s set in the universe of The Witcher<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This supposedly free-to-play project is targeting PC and mobile platforms right now, but there’s already speculation with regards to an eventual console release.<\/p>\n

Having said that, there’s apparently no word on a potential launch window yet, and so it’s difficult to discern just how far along the game is in terms of production.<\/p>\n

The report does, however, delve into way more detail than I thought it would \u2014 so MP1st’s anonymous source must be impressively in-the-know.<\/p>\n

For starters, you’ll be playing as your own custom character \u2014 a Witcher from a time when the monster-slayers were much more common.<\/p>\n

You’ll take on contracts to tackle various beasts across a range of environments, which obviously draws comparisons to something like Monster Hunter<\/a>. Combat rewards the precise timing of blocks, dodges, parries, and subsequent counterattacks.<\/p>\n

MP1st points out that CD Projekt Red did establish some sort of deal with a company called Scopely back near the beginning of 2025. Scopely is a California-based, “mobile-first” publisher and developer \u2014 and so you can see how all of this might line up.<\/p>\n

Now, obviously, we don’t know the scope of this thing. It’s possible that it’s a lower budget, mobile-focused release \u2014 in which case it may never be intended for a console audience.<\/p>\n

But this report makes it sound somewhat ambitious \u2014 the kind of free-to-play multiplayer project that starts off on PC and mobile, but eventually ends up on PlayStation once it’s all up and running (and making decent money).<\/p>\n
