The first official synopsis for Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a> is here.<\/p>\n “It’s a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker,” the synopsis, found on the movie’s official website<\/a>, begins. “Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn\u2019t remember him\u2014and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him\u2014sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves – a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn\u2019t forgotten them.”<\/p>\n Given how much of the movie has been under wraps, even a morsel of info about the movie’s Big Bad \u2013 as is the case here \u2013 is welcome.<\/p>\n A “shocking new threat” and “a powerful villain no one can even see”? With speculation rampant<\/a> that Sadie Sink is playing Jean Grey in the fourth instalment of the Spider-Man MCU saga, there are going to be plenty of fans thinking that’s proof of the X-Men icon’s inclusion in Brand New Day.<\/p>\n While we’re not completely convinced (something is up with Tramell Tillman’s character<\/a>, after all), this all points to a hidden villain waiting in the wings, one who hasn’t cropped up in marketing. Until now.<\/p>\n Throw in a surprise “transformation” \u2013 Man-Spider, anyone? \u2013 that has the power to take down whichever nefarious force is plaguing New York and it has all the makings of a Spidey classic.<\/p>\n Mercifully, it appears a second Brand New Day trailer is imminent, though we don’t expect it to mirror the day-long rollout of the first trailer<\/a>.<\/p>\n Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, and Sadie Sink, swings into cinemas on July 31.<\/p>\n Need more from the webhead?
