The local council spotted Ronnie Wood<\/a>\u2019s bright pink door and they want it painted black. <\/p>\n

The Rolling Stones rocker<\/a> has reportedly been ordered by Westminster Council<\/a> to paint the front door of his home in Maida Vale<\/a>, north-west London, a \u201cneutral tone\u201d, such as black.<\/p>\n

The council has rejected retrospective planning permission for a number of listed homes in the area because \u201cincongruous\u201d colours are believed to \u201charm the appearance and special architectural interest of their properties\u201d. <\/p>\n

A source close to Wood told the Daily Mail:<\/a> \u201cThe council does not like your door being painted a different colour. They like them black.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wood, 79, painted his front door pink years ago, after moving into the \u00a37m property with his wife, Sally Humphreys, and their twin daughters.<\/p>\n

While he kept the front gate painted black, someone reportedly took a photo of the door and said he couldn\u2019t keep it in the bright pink colour. <\/p>\n

After Wood retrospectively applied for council approval, he was reportedly told to paint it black. <\/p>\n

One of the guitarist\u2019s neighbours, Bafta-winning film continuity supervisor Angela Allen<\/a>, told the publication that she had been one of the first residents on their street to be told to repaint their door.<\/p>\n

Allen was apparently threatened with a \u00a330,000 fine if she did not repaint her door from her chosen colour, blue, half a decade after she redecorated it. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m 97, but I still argue with the council,\u201d Allen, who worked on classic films including The African Queen and The Third Man. \u201cA neighbour had a shocking pink door and a lady further down had blue because she liked our blue.<\/p>\n

\u201cI asked the council about the colour before I painted it five years ago, so it\u2019s taken five years for them to get back.\u201d<\/p>\n

A council spokesperson told The Independent: \u201cThese properties form part of a distinctive group of listed buildings within a conservation area, and we have advised residents that changes affecting their historic character may require consent.<\/p>\n

\u201cResidents are able to submit an application for the works to be formally considered.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Wood is currently preparing for the release of the Stones\u2019 25th studio album, Foreign Tongues, as well as a headline solo tour featuring songs from his back catalogue and new material. <\/p>\n

The legendary guitarist said in a statement that he was looking forward to \u201ckickin\u2019 ass\u201d at the shows, including a gig at the Kentish Town Forum in London on 21 August.<\/p>\n
