{"id":641416,"date":"2026-06-16T10:19:07","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T10:19:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/641416\/"},"modified":"2026-06-16T10:19:07","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T10:19:07","slug":"heavyweight-who-sparred-both-delivers-verdict-on-daniel-dubois-vs-moses-itauma-fight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/641416\/","title":{"rendered":"Heavyweight who sparred both delivers verdict on Daniel Dubois vs Moses Itauma fight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/moses-itauma-2\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Moses Itauma<\/a> is tipped for the very top and the 21-year-old could soon secure a shot at <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/daniel-dubois\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Daniel Dubois<\/a>\u2019 WBO heavyweight world title.<\/p>\n<p>Dubois stopped Fabio Wardley last month to become a two-time world champion. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/boxing\/articles\/cgep2g4dgvwo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Wardley has since activated his rematch clause<\/a> to initiate a second fight, which is expected to take place before the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/itauma-set-to-be-mandatory\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Itauma is currently positioned as the WBO\u2019s mandatory challenger<\/a>, meaning he will likely get a shot at the victor of Dubois-Wardley II and therefore the world heavyweight title.<\/p>\n<p>The youngster shares the same trainer as Wardley in Ben Davison, so he may still opt to seek alternative options if Wardley is able to avenge his first career defeat.<\/p>\n<p>If Dubois retains the title and tees up a showdown with Itauma, Harvey Dykes, who has sparred both men, advised Itauma to not rush into such a dangerous scrap, in an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/pQaSaBKKEUQ?si=_LAYiK0O4dTqpC6Z\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Seconds Out<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI rate Moses very, very highly but I think, what is the point of rushing it? I\u2019d probably give him [Itauma] another year.
