Among the memorable moments include Andy Murray<\/a>‘s Wimbledon<\/a> singles titles in 2013 and 2016.<\/p>\n And in an interview with The Times, Castle has revealed that former chief of The Athletic Alex Kay-Jelski\u00a0has decided to take the BBC’s coverage in a different direction<\/a>.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cTo be honest, when I got the job 23 years ago, a lot of the more experienced commentators felt that they should have been first in line.<\/p>\n \u201cTheir noses were put out of joint. So, in the wider scheme of things, I am lucky that I had the best gig in sports broadcasting for so long, during the greatest age of men\u2019s\u00a0tennis.<\/p>\n Read more on sport<\/p>\n \u201cMy wife Sophia and I are building a house and we\u2019re about to have a third grandchild, so things are good.<\/p>\n \u201cI am not sure what will come\u00a0next\u00a0professionally, but whatever it is, I\u2019ll embrace it.\u201d<\/p>\n The 62-year-old’s exit follows Sue Barker’s in 2022<\/a> as the BBC refresh their tennis coverage.<\/p>\n Castle added: \u201cIt\u2019s been a hell of a journey.<\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t say I have enjoyed every minute because there have been moments of pressure and controversy, but it has been a huge privilege.<\/p>\n \u201cLuck is a big factor in life and I\u2019ve had my fair share. But you\u2019ve got to make your own luck in the world. Murray had three match points, which [Novak] Djokovic saved.<\/p>\n \u201cThe tension was unbearable. The director asked for a push into Andy\u2019s eyes, a lingering shot as he was grimacing after a gruelling rally.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it was deuce. He was two points away from the thing he\u2019d always dreamt of.
