{"id":642428,"date":"2026-06-16T22:36:13","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T22:36:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/642428\/"},"modified":"2026-06-16T22:36:13","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T22:36:13","slug":"filming-starts-on-ruth-jones-and-steve-speirs-comedy-better-later","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/642428\/","title":{"rendered":"Filming starts on Ruth Jones and Steve Speirs comedy Better Later"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Jones and Speirs also wrote and starred in Stella, a series about life in a fictional valleys town which ran between 2012 and 2017.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Better Later follows retired teacher Clive, played by Speirs, and environmental health officer Shelley Anne, played by Jones.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Clive, 60, is adjusting to life after being widowed, while 55-year-old Shelley Anne is going through a bitter divorce.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Jones said: &#8220;In a funny way this show has been 35 years in the making, which is when I first met Steve. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It&#8217;s not that we&#8217;re slow writers, it&#8217;s just that we&#8217;ve been up to other things.
