\n\tTom Holland<\/a> has played Spider-Man<\/a> across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it will not be forever. As the fourth film looms, the actor already has an idea of who could play the superhero after him.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a new interview, Holland said the Adolescence actor would be a good successor as Peter Parker.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOwen Cooper<\/a> would be awesome,\u201d Holland told Esquire UK<\/a>. \u201cObviously, he\u2019s super-talented and the talk of the town right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCooper gained acclaim after starring in the Netflix miniseries\u00a0Adolescence,\u00a0which earned him awards at the BAFTA TV Awards, the Golden Globes, and the Primetime Emmys.<\/p>\n

\n\tHolland also noted in the interview that he would like to be involved in the development of the character after he\u2019s done, but says it\u2019s \u201cpretty tough to get a producing credit on future movies.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIn the way that Robert Downey was such a mentor for me in my first three movies, I would love to be that person for whoever is next,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis is not the first time Holland has mentioned Robert Downey Jr. as a mentor in interviews.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFor whoever\u2019s next, whether that is a Miles Morales or a Spider-Gwen or a Spider-Woman or something like that, I would love to be a part of setting up the next chapter,\u201d Holland told Empire<\/a> recently. \u201cWhatever that looks like, I don\u2019t know. But if I could do what Downey did for me, then I would be so content swinging off into the sunset.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHolland\u2019s Spider-Man first appeared in 2016\u2019s\u00a0Captain America: Civil War, officially becoming part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sony Pictures would then release Spider-Man: Homecoming the following year with Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role of Iron Man. Holland would later reprise his role in Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).<\/p>\n

\n\tSpider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a> is set to release on July 31, 2026. The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, stars Holland, who reprises his role as Peter Parker and Zendaya as MJ.
