Macron takes a few questions on the deal with Iran and his views about the strait of Hormuz and Lebanon.<\/p>\n

But in the penultimate question, he also gets asked about his relationship with Donald Trump, with the journalist suggesting Macron is on a charm offensive to get the US president on side \u2013 including through their formal dinner at the Palace of Versailles tonight.<\/p>\n

Macron says he was always very open about areas where the pair disagreed \u2013 for example on Greenland or Ukraine<\/a> \u2013 but it\u2019s the nature of diplomacy that you work to figure it out. But whenever they agree on something, they follow through on that agreement.<\/p>\n

He says the last two days show how much can be achieved when discussions are still being held, despite some past disagreements.<\/p>\n

He says what matters is that he defends France\u2019s interests, and, of course, hosting a dinner at the Palace of Versailles is part of broader diplomacy.<\/p>\n

Turning to Ukraine<\/a>, Macron says the leaders had an \u201cin-depth\u201d discussion on Ukraine, which allowed to \u201cfind significant areas of agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n

He stresses their \u201cunwavering support for Ukraine,\u201d and notes that \u201cthe balance of power has profoundly shifted in recent months\u201d as \u201cUkraine is advancing and resisting; Russia is retreating.\u201d<\/p>\n

He says the leaders have agreed to increase the provision of air defence capabilities and systems to help Ukraine even further.<\/p>\n

He also says the leaders backed Ukraine\u2019s request for licensing arrangements so they can produce some of that equipment themselves.<\/p>\n

She says that the G7 leaders reached an agreement with Trump over Ukraine<\/a>, stressing this \u201ccannot always be taken for granted.\u201d<\/p>\n

It increasingly looks like this morning\u2019s agreed G7 statement (9:29<\/a>) on Ukraine should be seen as a win for Europe.<\/p>\n

Meloni also says there was an overall \u201cgood climate\u201d of talks at the summit.<\/p>\n

Polish prime minister Donald Tusk said the killing of a Russian artist who was critical of president Vladimir Putin has the hallmarks of a political assassination, AP reported.<\/p>\n

Robert Kuzovkov, known by the pseudonym Semyon Skrepetsky, was shot and killed at close range near his home in the eastern Polish city of Biala Podlaska on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything points to this being a political murder,\u201d Tusk said at a news briefing in Warsaw.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we must wait for evidence or more concrete indications. Because if that was the case \u2013 if it was ordered by Russia \u2013 then it is an extremely serious matter internationally. It would constitute state terrorism.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tusk said the victim had been offered state protection by Polish police and security services amid concerns about his safety, but had declined the offer.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe case is difficult. If there\u2019s a hired killer involved, it\u2019s unfortunately not easy to identify such a person,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
