Betsy Swain<\/a>\u00a0(Sydney Martin<\/a>) is your average Coronation Street teenager. She suffers more trauma before breakfast than the rest of us do in a lifetime.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not enough that her maniac mother<\/a>\u00a0Becky Swain<\/a>\u00a0(Amy Cudden<\/a>) faked her death just to play cuckoo in the nest by driving her beloved step-mum Carla Connor-Swain<\/a>\u00a0(Alison King<\/a>) from the loving arms of her other mum Lisa-Connor Swain<\/a>\u00a0(Vicky Myers<\/a>). But the scheming loon almost got Betsy and her family killed in a deadly car chase than ended in disaster<\/a>.<\/p>\n Then of course, let\u2019s not forget the time that she was accidentally shot by own mum,\u00a0Lisa Swain<\/a>\u00a0(Vicky Myers<\/a>), during a showdown with\u00a0Carlas\u2019s psychotic brother, escaped killer Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis)<\/a>.<\/p>\n After all that drama, you\u2019d think the Coronation Street writers would let the poor girl relax and enjoy Swarla\u2019s wedding like the rest of the nation, right? And they did\u2026 for five minutes.<\/p>\n \t\t But poor Betsy is a Coronation Street rising star who the fans adore. So, of course she had to be the one who discovered the body <\/a>of abuser Theo Silverton<\/a>\u00a0(James Cartwright<\/a>) after he was brutally murdered on the Cobbles.<\/p>\n Seriously, this girl is a murder magnet.<\/p>\n However, the death of her\u00a0reform-in-process boyfriend, Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan)<\/a>, who was stabbed to death<\/a> by his own brother, arguably had the biggest impact on Betsy. <\/p>\n \t\t This cataclysmic event changed the troubled teen from girl to woman practically over night, as she started rebelling, staying out late and lost her virginity to Sean Tully\u2019s (Antony Cotton) scally son Dylan Wilson<\/a>\u00a0(Liam McCheyne<\/a>).<\/p>\n \t\t Recently, Betsy and Dylan have been hanging around with fellow Corrie youth-with-a-troubled-back story \u00a0Brody Michaelis<\/a>\u00a0(Ryan Mulvey<\/a>). This weeks\u2019 episodes saw the teen trio run afoul of a group of thugs<\/a>. This might just be the start of the drama however, as actress Sydney Martin recently teased a huge coming of age story for \u2018time bomb\u2019 Betsy<\/a>.<\/p>\n And as clairvoyant as ever, Corrie fans reckon they\u2019ve got it sussed.<\/p>\n It was during Tuesday\u2019s episode, after the run-in with some nasty lads down the precinct, where viewers learned that the encounter had clearly brought back some traumatic memories for Betsy. \u201dCan I be honest? I think about Mason all the time. Focus on the future, people will love and care about.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t However, Corrie fans reckon the writers have a different idea. They all know foreshadowing when they see it. Betsy\u2019s recently been positively giddy about a potential opportunity to pursue her dreams of studying fashion in London\u2026 which obviously means some terrible disaster will happen to prevent in. Die-hard viewers took to social media to share grim predictions for what that disaster could be..<\/p>\n TheConnorSwains commented: \u2018And there it is\u2026 the foreshadowing. As soon as a character decides it\u2019s finally time to move on, you know something terrible is lurking around the corner, ready to alter their future forever.\u2019<\/p>\n Another user, KatieJukesy seemed to agree, suggesting that the mention of Mason may mean that history is about to repeat itself in the worst way possible: \u2018What if Dylan gets stabbed by those lads? That brings Betsy\u2019s feelings about Mason back full force. PTSD ting\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t Other users seemed to share that theory, believing that the \u2018coming of age storyline\u2019 may lead to Betsy being a teenager carer if Dylan is brutally attacked.<\/p>\n SophieH74610875 wrote: \u2018I think Dylan will get shot and that what makes Betsy not got London and links with the coming of age storyline.\u2019 <\/p>\n Fake_TV_Chef added: \u2018Wild theory: Everyone thinks Betsy\u2019s in danger, but Dylan\u2019s part of this story too. If he\u2019s attacked and left wheelchair-bound since Sean\u2019s flat has stairs, Dylan could move into No.6 for Betsy to care for him putting London on hold.\u2019<\/p>\n Some theories veered into tin-foil hat territory, so obviously they\u2019re my favourite.
