The morning suit only makes the case louder.<\/p>\n The set-photo narrative gets a counterpoint<\/p>\n The timing matters for another reason. <\/p>\n Cavill has been shooting Chad Stahelski\u2019s Highlander reboot across Europe, and candid set photos out of Poland and the UK \u2014 harsh daylight, Cavill bruised and roughed up in character as the weathered immortal Connor MacLeod \u2014 had some fans wondering if he\u2019d aged out of leading-man shape<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Ascot appearance is the cleaned-up answer to that.<\/p>\n In-character set candids and a posed, fitted, red-carpet-grade look are two very different things, and the second one is what\u2019s lighting up his feed this week.<\/p>\n It also pours fuel on a very different fan campaign. The same weathered, rough-around-the-edges look that had critics whispering about Cavill\u2019s age is exactly what the crowd that wants him to play Wolverine has been asking for \u2014 and Marvel doesn\u2019t seem ready to close that door.<\/p>\n
