A Dragons\u2019 Den<\/a> business that scored investment from three of the show\u2019s stars is already worth millions \u2013 and the achievements don\u2019t stop there.<\/p>\n Former Goldman Sachs director Jinesh Vohra shook hands with Peter Jones<\/a>, Deborah Meaden<\/a> and Touker Suleyman after pitching his app, which focuses on taming mortgage<\/a> overpayments, to save in the long run on interest payments.<\/p>\n The free app Sprive launched in 2021 and seeks to help homeowners pay off their mortgage quicker, by putting aside cashback for that purpose from their weekly shops, having partnered with brands including John Lewis<\/a>.<\/p>\n People who use it have hailed it as \u2018absolutely brilliant\u2019, sharing how it\u2019s helped them save money that they can put towards their mortgages.<\/p>\n And it\u2019s clearly working its magic for many, as Vohra revealed in a new interview, it was \u2018the most downloaded finance app in the UK on the back of Dragon\u2019s Den, which I didn\u2019t really expect\u2019. <\/p>\n He continued to the Finanser<\/a>: \u2018It\u2019s something I\u2019m very happy about as it\u2019s not something that is easily achievable. We were the sixth most downloaded app across all apps in the UK, post Dragon\u2019s Den. It\u2019s very rare.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t During the episode, Vohra said the company works with over 2,500 brands, so that the expenses from food shops, coffee<\/a> runs and takeaways, which are made through the app, save money on your mortgage.<\/p>\n The app is also always on the lookout for better mortgage deals for its customers.\u00a0<\/p>\n He shared in the new chat that he understands how \u2018rare\u2019 it also is to \u2018get your business in front of three to four million people over a 10 to 15 minute segment.\u2019<\/p>\n Not underestimating the influence of the dragons on the general public, he added: \u2018If they say we believe in this business, and we\u2019re going to back this business, for a lot of people watching at home, that\u2019s huge.\u2019<\/p>\n And although he\u2019s reaped the benefits of the app\u2019s new public profile thanks to the show, he strongly believes it is not a \u2018temporary blip\u2019.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018We\u2019ve definitely seen growth that is just incredible, and I don\u2019t think it\u2019s a temporary blip. I think we\u2019re getting to new levels where we\u2019re continuing to see sustained growth and momentum on the back of that, and much due to that initial kind of exposure.\u2019<\/p>\n While pitching to the famed business tycoons on national TV, who also included Gary Neville<\/a> and Steven Bartlett<\/a> in the line-up, Vohra explained that Sprive can put up to \u00a325 a month towards a person\u2019s mortgage, potentially saving thousands in interest.\u00a0<\/p>\n A year before even walking into the den, the startup had closed a round of \u00a35,500,000 funding from investors, according to a report in Fintech Finance News<\/a>.<\/p>\n Vohra\u2019s appearance on the hit BBC<\/a> One investment show aired in February, during which he scored a combination of three Dragons for the price of five per cent and \u00a350,000 funding.<\/p>\n \u2018The power of three Dragons and the Dragons you\u2019ve got \u2013 that\u2019s pretty serious,\u2019 Peter Jones told him in the den.\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\t Speaking to BBC Radio\u2019s Desi Stories in March, Vohra said he had been duty-bound to keep the investment a secret for some time while waiting for the episode to air, but was at the stage of working out the contract with the Dragons and their lawyers.<\/p>\n He said: \u2018I wanted five, but unfortunately two Dragons backed out. The Dragons have so much trust. When it comes to financial services, trust is so important. I\u2019ve never built a business. I had a corporate job.<\/p>\n \u2018To get three was just amazing and the three Dragons who have been on the show for a long time, it\u2019s just out of this world.\u2019<\/p>\n He concluded: \u2018Most people don\u2019t realise, a lot of people taking out mortgages now, for every \u00a31 you borrow, it can be \u00a33 in interest. It\u2019s scary amounts over the lifetime of a mortgage.<\/p>\n \u2018If you think about it, most people spend a lot of what they earn.
