There’s little to no setup required, since the feature is baked into One UI 8.5. As long as your Galaxy phone is on that version, you can access it.<\/p>\n
You just need to open the Samsung Gallery app. Look for the images or videos and select them, or open a specific one.<\/p>\n
Then tap the three-dot icon to open the More menu, and choose Move to private album > Move.<\/p>\n

This also works like Samsung’s Secure Folder, where if you decide to change your mind about showing certain images to someone, you can move them back to the Gallery app for public viewing.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n Related<\/p>\n \t\t The gallery app that actually gets me<\/p>\n Using Private Space and Secure Folder<\/p>\n If you really need to lock everything down, use these tools<\/p>\n I normally keep most of my sensitive information out of my phone if I can help it. But I have also guiltily placed private screenshots and sensitive information as photos.<\/p>\n That’s where you might still opt into separating that using either Private Space or Secure Folder<\/a>.<\/p>\n If you prefer what you do \u2014 like your apps, files, and media \u2014 to be completely hidden or almost invisible, consider setting up Private Space. That way, everything feels isolated from your main phone use.<\/p>\n If you want extra security, Secure Folder is a great choice. You can also back up anything you store to Samsung Cloud in case you ever lose access to your device.<\/p>\n Plus, everything stored in Secure Folder is encrypted with Samsung’s security platform, Samsung Knox<\/a>. In Private Space, only biometrics can protect your private content.<\/p>\n I am more partial to Secure Folder, mainly because it has been around longer since the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was released. It later became available for Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge with Android 7.0.<\/p>\n Private Space was an Android 15 feature that came alongside the One UI 7 update.<\/p>\n Both features can be found in the Security and privacy section in the Settings app.<\/p>\n Stay private with photos even without a Samsung phone<\/p>\n Even if you don’t use Private Space and don’t have a Samsung phone to keep your images hidden, there are still a few tools you can use.<\/p>\n For example, Google Photos has a built-in lock feature<\/a> that works similarly to Samsung’s Secure Folder, but only for what’s available in the app or in your Google Pixel camera.<\/p>\n
