{"id":650781,"date":"2026-06-21T15:47:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-21T15:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/650781\/"},"modified":"2026-06-21T15:47:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-21T15:47:09","slug":"hundreds-watch-sunrise-at-uks-most-easterly-point-in-lowestoft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/650781\/","title":{"rendered":"Hundreds watch sunrise at UK&#8217;s most easterly point in Lowestoft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Performance poet Bradley Taylor, of Birmingham, said he rarely got to see the sea, so watching the sunrise at Lowestoft with hundreds of other people was &#8220;very, very special&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Project manager Jo Leverett admitted she hadn&#8217;t had much sleep before the early wake-up but said the sunrise was nevertheless &#8220;absolutely gorgeous and really, really special&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I think we had about 2,000 people come down for our wonderful dawn celebration &#8211; we had music, we had singing,&#8221; she added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;There is something really special that draws people down to it, because it is the first light that we get here.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Do you have a story suggestion for Suffolk?
