{"id":650856,"date":"2026-06-21T17:02:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-21T17:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/650856\/"},"modified":"2026-06-21T17:02:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-21T17:02:18","slug":"hsbc-championships-2026-henry-patten-harri-heliovaara-into-seventh-final-of-the-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/650856\/","title":{"rendered":"HSBC Championships 2026: Henry Patten &#038; Harri Heliovaara into seventh final of the season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara\u2019s 2026 season reached another high after the world No.1s defeated Neal Skupski and Christian Harrison to make the Queen\u2019s final.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/henry-patten\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Patten<\/a>\u00a0and Heliovaara were too strong in the deciding match tie-break, beating the Australian Open champions 6-4, 3-6, 10-3.<\/p>\n<p>They continue their stunning form this season with a seventh ATP final \u2013 including four titles.<\/p>\n<p>Off the back finishing runners-up at Roland Garros the two have bounced back incredibly well and are now be looking to add the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/international\/hsbc-championships\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">HSBC Championships<\/a> to their trophy haul.<\/p>\n<p>Patten will be aiming to become the fourth British champion at The Queen\u2019s Club in the last three years \u2013 following reigning champions <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/julian-cash\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Julian Cash<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/lloyd-glasspool\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lloyd Glasspool<\/a>, and 2024 winner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/neal-skupski\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Skupski<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The British star has enjoyed being back on home soil this week and has been relishing the atmosphere at The Queen\u2019s Club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s amazing, especially in front of a home crowd,\u201d Patten said. \u201cIt means a lot to play at home in front of you all (the crowd). We had a great time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s amazing to be a part of it (British doubles contingent). It\u2019s a golden age for British doubles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a Brit I\u2019m typically pessimistic about most things, but about doubles, I\u2019m very optimistic. It\u2019s something we should cherish and be proud of as a tennis nation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2026-patten-heliovaara-hsbc-championships-sf.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2880\" height=\"1921\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>In the final, they will play Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic after they knocked out Cash and Glasspool 6-4, 6-3.<\/p>\n<p>Patten and Heliovaara have won their last four meetings against the fourth seeds, including three matches this year.<\/p>\n<p>It was a solid first set from the British-Finnish team \u2013 who had break points on all but one service game against Skupski and Harrison.<\/p>\n<p>However, the tide quickly turned at the start of the second, with the Grand Slam champions racing out to an insurmountable 3-0 lead.<\/p>\n<p>Going into the match tie-break it seemed like all momentum was with Skupski and Harrison, as their opponents wrestled to get their serve in rhythm again.<\/p>\n<p>In the big moment, Patten and Heliovaara stepped it up.
