Oh, Maria Connor<\/a>. The Coronation Street<\/a> stalwart has been perennially unlucky in love, hasn\u2019t she?<\/p>\n In her twenty six years on the cobbles, she\u2019s had a run of terrible relationships, including three \u2013 if we\u2019re counting the sham one \u2013 marriages. Her longest running love story, though, is with her current husband, bad boy with a big heart, Gary Windass<\/a>\u00a0(Mikey North<\/a>).<\/p>\n Gary supported Maria and her son, Liam Connor<\/a>\u00a0(Charlie Wrenshall<\/a>), as he suffered a brutal bullying ordeal<\/a>, which almost pushed him to harming himself<\/a>, as the family struggled to secure the necessary support to but an end to Liam\u2019s torment.<\/p>\n While he\u2019s got quite the chequered past \u2013 and he did kill a guy that time<\/a> \u2013 Gary has proven time and time again to be a solid presence in Maria\u2019s life, an unwavering pillar of support, loyal and trustworthy\u2026<\/p>\n \u2026although now, Maria\u2019s convinced that she couldn\u2019t trust him as far as she could throw him, and she believes he\u2019s conducting an illicit affair with Sarah Platt<\/a>\u00a0(Tina O\u2019Brien<\/a>).<\/p>\n \u2018She\u2019s known for a few weeks that something is definitely not right between her and Gary,\u2019 Samia Longchambon<\/a> mused.<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t \u2018She\u2019s been clocking these little sneaky conversations he\u2019s been having with Sarah, and she\u2019s put two and two together. She\u2019s just convinced that they must be sleeping together.\u2019<\/p>\n It\u2019s true, Gary and Sarah have been acting particular strangely in the aftermath of Theo Silverton\u2019s\u00a0(James Cartwright) murder<\/a>, with the two having some of the first to discover the beastly builders abuse of Todd Grimshaw<\/a>\u00a0(Gareth Pierce<\/a>).<\/p>\n With the Kit Green<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0(Jacob Roberts)<\/a> dinner party from Hell<\/a> just around the corner and with Sarah and Gary on the guest list alongside Todd and Summer Spellman<\/a>\u00a0(Harriet Bibby<\/a>), Maria decides to go for the full public execution and, under the guise of making a toast, lays her accusations on the table.<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t\t\t\tIs Gary cheating with Sarah?<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\tSign up to The Soaps Newsletter – Weekly. Beneath it all, she\u2019s actually a heartbroken woman who thinks she\u2019s lost her man.\u2019<\/p>\n From there, chaos ensues and the dinner party ends with broken glass everywhere and blood splattered across the dinner table.<\/p>\n \u2018She\u2019s kind of lit the fuse\u2026 so she\u2019s not shocked,\u2019 Samia admitted.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018This is exactly what she wanted. The moment Kit invited her to the dinner party, she thought \u2018Right, brilliant. This is where I\u2019m going to do it. This is where I\u2019m going to confront both of them and let it all out.\u2019<\/p>\n Is this the end of Garia? Mary? \u2026we\u2019ll stick with Gary and Maria!<\/p>\n \u2018I mean, it could be,\u2019 Samia said, admitting that \u2018It\u2019s a lot to get through.\u2019<\/p>\n \u2018If they can get through this, I feel like they can weather any storm. They\u2019ve been through a lot of trials in their relationship already, but this is definitely the most challenging thing they\u2019ve ever had to navigate.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t Behind the scenes, Samia enthused about the filming of the episode: \u2018Oh, it was brilliant! <\/p>\n \u2018It was so good because Dom Stephenson, our director, let us have an organised read-through first. Then we blocked it out on set in our own clothes, not our character costumes.
