Seeing a dimpled, moss-coloured ceramic dome appear in a neighbour\u2019s garden is enough to inspire seething envy, which we should probably call the big green-eyed monster.<\/p>\n<p>An Egg\u2019s presence announces: \u201cYes, I have spent more than \u00a32,000 on my barbecue. Care for a banger?\u201d Its owner will be dressed in tailored linen and playing classical music. The food will be showy-offy \u2013 think briskets cooked with scientific exactitude \u2013 in a way that suggests the chef has spent slightly too long on the online forums, as all BGE owners do.<\/p>\n<p>On the menu: 103-hour brisket, a huge fish, pizza. \u201cDid you know you can do pizza on an Egg?\u201d \u201cYes. You told us. Twice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the speaker: Wagner\u2019s Ride of the Valkyries. \u201cI love the smell of Official Big Green Egg charcoal at five in the morning, the time I woke up to get my \u2018Boston butt\u2019 on the go.
