Bodega<\/a> have announced their new album \u2018All Inside Aquarium\u2019 and shared its melodic title track \u2013 check it out below.<\/p>\n

The New York City band will release their fourth full-length album\u00a0and the follow-up to 2024\u2019s \u2018Our Brand Could Be Yr Life<\/a>\u2019,\u00a0on October 9 via Chrysalis Records,\u00a0and you can pre-order it\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They have shared the record\u2019s title track as the lead single,\u00a0a song built around chunky, melodic guitars, with\u00a0frontman\u00a0Ben Hozie\u00a0channelling\u00a0a \u201890s slacker indie energy.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the song, Hozie has said: \u201cThis track is an attempt at an existential anthem. Pain (after it subsides) can bring you closer to a beatific perspective where dichotomy disappears and curious creativity calmly trickles out like the faucet tube in the tub \u2014> Being there, you remember all is connected and paradoxically emerge more yourself despite recognizing you are a mere flake in the fish-tank of cosmic oneness. Nobody can really mess with your head except yourself when you take responsibility for your reality.\u201d<\/p>\n

The album will be\u00a0made\u00a0available as a Dinked exclusive edition on cloudy blue vinyl, featuring the 7\u201d single, while a limited Bandcamp edition will come with hand-painted alternate artwork by\u00a0Belfiglio.<\/p>\n

It\u00a0sees Bodega\u00a0moving further away from the post-punk tag, with Hozie adding:\u00a0\u201cI never thought of us as a post-punk band.\u00a0I just thought of us as a conceptual rock band.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWith \u2018All Inside Aquarium\u2019, the goal was, let\u2019s go back to melodic tunes, let\u2019s be more of a proper rock band,\u201d he added, citing a late-\u201980s and early-\u201990s sound somewhere between The Stone Roses<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Jane\u2019s Addiction<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The album was recorded in the UK with producer Matt Peel at The Nave, his Leeds studio based in a deconsecrated church, before being mixed in Brighton with Theo Verney.<\/p>\n
