The UK travel industry has suffered a wave of business failures in recent months, with eleven operators falling into liquidation as the Middle East conflict continues to destabilise the sector<\/p>\n

.These closures, occurring since January, have sparked significant flight disruption and forced staff out of work.<\/p>\n

Customers have been left in difficult positions, with numerous holidays scrapped entirely.<\/p>\n

Many affected travellers are now pursuing refunds or seeking compensation for their cancelled trips.<\/p>\n

The turmoil follows official warnings from both the Government and airlines regarding the ongoing regional instability, creating widespread uncertainty across the travel sector.<\/p>\n

Near Kidlington, coach and passenger transport operator Oxfordshire Travel Limited ceased trading in October 2025 after a decade in business, with administrators determining it could no longer meet its financial obligations.<\/p>\n

Set Sail Cruises Ltd, another county-based firm, was wound up on 17 March this year, resulting in the cancellation of all scheduled voyages.<\/p>\n

The cruise agency had operated for just two years following its February 2024 incorporation.<\/p>\n

The Padel Travel Club Limited also closed its doors, leaving around \u00a341,000 in short-term liabilities and insufficient funds to satisfy creditors fully.<\/p>\n

Regen Central Ltd, a London-based ATOL-licensed agency specialising in flight-and-hotel packages to European and Southeast Asian destinations, had its licence revoked on 13 January before entering liquidation and cancelling all reservations.<\/p>\n

Glasgow’s Simply Florida Travel Ltd, renowned for marketing “dream holidays” including Disney World excursions, dissolved in early January and subsequently lost its ATOL status, leaving customers chasing their money back.<\/p>\n

Coach-tour specialist Gold Crest Holidays, which operated domestic and international trips, also folded in early 2026, with its entire workforce made redundant following the company’s collapse.<\/p>\n

The most recent casualty is Strachan Travel Ltd, a Lancashire-based operator that has traded since 1983.<\/p>\n

The company passed resolutions to wind up on 11 June, with liquidators formally appointed five days later on 16 June, according to The Gazette.<\/p>\n

Additional travel businesses have ceased operations or been dissolved since 2025, including Asiara UK Ltd, Jetline Travel Ltd, Great Little Escapes LLP, and New Era Travel.<\/p>\n
