June 22 (Reuters) – Micron Technology said on Monday it has signed an agreement with Anthropic that includes supply \u200cof memory and storage products, and a strategic investment \u200cin the IPO-bound AI company’s latest funding round.<\/p>\n
AI developers are racing to secure \u200bcritical components for increasingly expensive data-center buildouts, while memory makers look to tap into the soaring demand for high-bandwidth memory and storage used in training and running advanced AI models.<\/p>\n
“Our compute strategy depends \u200con getting every layer \u2060of the stack right, and memory and storage are central to how efficiently we can train \u2060and serve Claude,” said Tom Brown, Anthropic’s co-founder and chief compute officer.<\/p>\n
The AI developer has in recent months signed several major agreements \u200bto secure \u200bmore computing capacity, including deals \u200bwith CoreWeave, Broadcom and \u200cSpaceX.<\/p>\n
Micron, a major supplier of high-bandwidth memory, said it would work with Anthropic to analyze how memory and storage systems perform across AI workloads and interact with the broader infrastructure stack.<\/p>\n
The memory chipmaker said it has already deployed Claude models internally, applying \u200cthem to coding and agentic use \u200bcases across engineering, manufacturing and enterprise functions, \u200band expects to expand \u200bthose deployments.<\/p>\n
Financial terms of the supply agreement and \u200cMicron’s Series H investment in \u200bAnthropic were not \u200bdisclosed.<\/p>\n
Anthropic, the company behind the viral coding assistant Claude Code, said on June 1 it had confidentially filed for \u200ba U.S. initial \u200cpublic offering, after raising $65 billion in the Series H that \u200bvalued it at $965 billion.<\/p>\n
