\t\t\t\tThis week\u2019s KPMG Women\u2019s PGA Championship is the most lucrative women\u2019s golf tournament of all time\u2026<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the biggest superstar in women\u2019s golf took home $2.5 million from a total $12.5 million prize purse at Riviera Country Club.<\/p>\n

Nelly Korda banked the biggest check of her career<\/a> when winning the US Women\u2019s Open \u2013 her second consecutive major this season. But this week at the KMPG Women\u2019s PGA Championship, the third major of five on the calendar, the stakes will be even higher<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At least financially. <\/p>\n

This week at Hazeltine, the best LPGA players will be contending for a share of $13 million \u2013 the largest prize purse in the history of women\u2019s golf. <\/p>\n

The raise from last year\u2019s $12 million purse continues a trend of rapidly increasing prize money across the women\u2019s game. In 2017, the Women\u2019s PGA Championship was played for $3.5 million, but there was a huge leap from $4.5 million in 2021 to $9million for the 2022 event.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe momentum that we\u2019re seeing as a whole \u2013 this wouldn\u2019t happen if you didn\u2019t believe in where it\u2019s going,\u201d Terry Clark, the PGA of America\u2019s CEO, explained.<\/p>\n
