{"id":654723,"date":"2026-06-23T22:01:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-23T22:01:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/654723\/"},"modified":"2026-06-23T22:01:12","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T22:01:12","slug":"north-wales-police-detective-charged-with-operating-equipment-under-clothing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/654723\/","title":{"rendered":"North Wales Police detective charged with operating equipment under clothing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A detective has been charged with operating equipment beneath clothing without consent, his police force has said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Det Con Lee Harshey-Jones is due to appear in court after being suspended from duties following an &#8220;incident&#8221; in Colwyn Bay, Conwy county, earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He was given bail after appearing before magistrates at Warrington, Cheshire, earlier in June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He is next due to appear for a plea hearing at Chester Crown Court on 14 July. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The detective was a lead investigator in the death of two-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c708yr41zqzo\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ethan Ives-Griffiths<\/a>, whose grandparents were jailed for murder last year, and has given evidence in other high-profile murder trials in north Wales.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Operating equipment beneath clothing without consent is an offence under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A detective has been charged with operating equipment beneath clothing without consent, his police force has said.
