Councils across North Wales are implementing early morning bin collections and altering services this week to protect waste crews from forecasted extreme temperatures.<\/a><\/p>\n

Local authorities have issued individual warnings to residents to ensure their waste is left out much earlier than usual, with one county suspending dry recycling collections entirely for a three-day period and another closing recycling centres during the hottest hours of the afternoon.<\/p>\n

In Conwy<\/a>, residents will see an immediate change to their morning routine, though the disruption is expected to be short-lived.<\/p>\n

Outlining their plans, Conwy Council<\/a> stated: “Collections crews will start at 5am instead of 7am. Collections will return to normal on Monday.”<\/p>\n

Further east, Flintshire<\/a> County Council has introduced more significant changes to its services to cope with the heatwave. The local authority said: “Due to the weather<\/a> warning for heat in Flintshire, we\u2019re making temporary changes to waste collections on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week.<\/p>\n

“Collections will start earlier – please put your bins out by 6am if you are due a collection. Dry recycling will not be collected on these days”<\/p>\n

Wrexham<\/a> County Borough Council is also shifting its operational hours forward to safeguard staff, urging residents to prepare their waste the evening before.<\/p>\n

The council said: “Extremely high temperatures have been forecast over the next few days, so we\u2019ll be starting our bin collections a little early each morning to help our crews avoid the hottest part of the day.<\/p>\n

A similar approach is being taken in Denbighshire<\/a>, where the altered schedule will affect all types of waste management.<\/p>\n

Denbighshire County Council said: “Due to the extreme heat warning in place this week. We are temporarily changing our waste collection time to help protect our crews.<\/p>\n

“From Wednesday 24th June, waste collections (Recycling, Residual, AHP and Garden Waste) will start earlier, from 6am and for the remainder of the week. Please ensure you put your bins out by 6am on your collection day.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Cyngor Gwynedd<\/a> is focusing its hot weather measures on its static facilities by shutting recycling sites during the peak temperatures of the day.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Gwynedd Council<\/a> stated: “Due to forecasted high temperatures, Gwynedd recycling centres will be closed between 14:00 and 16:00 on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of June. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”<\/p>\n

Residents across all affected counties are advised to follow their respective council guidelines to ensure their waste is successfully collected during the temporary heatwave measures.<\/p>\n
