Manchester City are interested in signing Chelsea defender Malo Gusto, talkSPORT understands.<\/p>\n

The Italian is set to return to City<\/a> as Pep Guardiola’s replacement after agreeing a three-year deal<\/a> with the club.<\/p>\n

It follows Guardiola’s decision to leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of last season.<\/p>\n

Maresca reunion<\/p>\n

Maresca could now be followed to City from Chelsea<\/a> by Gusto<\/a> having left the Blues in January.<\/p>\n

talkSPORT understands Chelsea value Gusto at \u00a375million and while they are not actively looking to sell, a number of top clubs are considering a move, alongside Manchester City.<\/p>\n

It comes after City expressed interest in Enzo Fernandez<\/a>, who has become a serious target for Real Madrid<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Blues are on the verge of signing a right-back this summer having hijacked Inter Milan’s move for Marco Palestra<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Matheus Nunes<\/a> and Rico Lewis<\/a> are City’s existing options at right-back heading into the 2026\/27 season.<\/p>\n

Gusto currently has four years remaining on his deal at Stamford Bridge having joined the club from Lyon in January 2023.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old previously made 72 appearances for Chelsea under Maresca.<\/p>\n

He was also part of the side which won the Conference League and Club World Cup during his only full season as manager.<\/p>\n

Chelsea are willing to entertain offers worth over \u00a340million for Gusto<\/p>\n

Gusto and Maresca could now be reunited at City ahead of the upcoming Premier League<\/a> season.<\/p>\n

The former made 49 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea last season.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, he is currently part of France’s World Cup squad in North America.<\/p>\n

Gusto won his 12th cap for his country off the bench in their win over Iraq on Monday.<\/p>\n

City transfer plans<\/p>\n

City are set for a busy summer after missing out on the Premier League title once again.<\/p>\n

They finished seven points adrift of champions Arsenal despite winning both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.<\/p>\n
