The 154th edition of golf\u2019s oldest major at Royal Birkdale is almost upon us, which can only mean one thing. It\u2019s time for Open Final Qualifying.<\/p>\n
Each year, Final Qualifying is held across four premier links venues across the UK \u2013 with Burnham & Berrow, Dundonald, Royal Cinque Ports, and West Lancashire on the current rota.<\/p>\n
Players who made it through Regional Qualifying<\/a> and those able to bypass that first stage compete over 36 holes on a single day for a minimum of 16 spots available in The Open<\/a>. Typically, the four lowest scorers at each venue make it through.<\/p>\n Final Qualifying has long attracted notable players who had not yet qualified for the final major of the season, but the fields have upped in quality since the rise of LIV Golf.
