Sandro Tonali\u2019s future at Newcastle United<\/a> has been a topic of heavy discussion in recent weeks. Tottenham Hotspur have already made a failed bid to try and sign him this summer. And Spurs are expected to return with a bigger offer, with Roberto De Zerbi believed to view him as a key target.<\/p>\n

That is not the end of the story though. Arsenal have also been suggested as a potential destination. Reports have claimed that Tonali would prefer a move to the champions, if the opportunity presented itself.<\/p>\n

Then there is Manchester City. The Citizens are starting a new era without Pep Guardiola and must be keen to back incoming manager Enzo Maresca.<\/p>\n

So, with the level of competition, it would come as a surprise if the Magpies are able to hold on to Tonali. And Fabrizio Romano dropped a late-night update on a potential move.<\/p>\n

Romano was asked by an user on X whether there was any news on the Tonali to Tottenham move. The Italian journalist replied with an emoji saying \u2018ON\u2019.<\/p>\n

So, it looks like there might have been progress behind the scenes when it comes to Spurs\u2019 potential move to sign Tonali this summer.<\/p>\n

Tottenham are believed to be keen to get that deal over the line as soon as possible. They do not want to let it drag on and allow Arsenal and Manchester City a chance to get involved, and potentially sign Tonali from right under their noses.<\/p>\n

Newcastle United are believed to be holding out for a fee in the region of \u00a3100 million. On the other hand, it is believed that Tottenham\u2019s opening bid was around \u00a380 million.<\/p>\n

How will Newcastle United replace someone like Sandro Tonali?<\/p>\n

It will not be easy for the Magpies to find a replacement for Tonali, no matter where he ends up. He is considered one of the best in the world in his role. That is why so many top clubs want him this summer.<\/p>\n

Newcastle United have been linked with a few players themselves. One of them is Lamine Camara of AS Monaco, a very highly regarded prospect.<\/p>\n

One would imagine that plenty of other names would pop up in the rumour mill if Tonali\u2019s exit does end up materialising. And at this point, it looks like that move is \u2018on\u2019.<\/p>\n

Incidentally, Tonali might not be the only midfielder on his way out of the club either. Bruno Guimaraes could be eyeing the exit door as well, alongside Joe Willock<\/a>.<\/p>\n
