David Benavidez<\/a> has named the fighter whom he believes could hand pound-for-pound rival Shakur Stevenson<\/a> a first career defeat.<\/p>\n

Stevenson captured the WBO super-lightweight world title with a decisive points victory over Teofimo Lopez<\/a> at the beginning of the year, but he has since been linked to fights against super-featherweight champion O\u2019Shaquie Foster, lightweight champion Raymond Muratalla and welterweight champion Devin Haney<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As a result, Stevenson\u2019s future at super-lightweight remains uncertain, with fans eager for the 27-year-old to move up to welterweight and attempt to become a four division champion by taking on Haney \u2013 although, the WBO has other ideas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Luis Parra<\/a>, Benavidez instead suggested an alternate 147lb ruler, admitting his interest in a fight between Stevenson and WBC titlist Ryan Garcia.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnother fight I really want to see is Ryan Garcia against Shakur\u2026 I don\u2019t like what Shakur is saying: \u2018I won\u2019t fight him at 147, but I\u2019ll fight him at 144\u2019 \u2013 three pounds, what\u2019s the difference?\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no difference there. That\u2019s nothing. You drink some water and gain two pounds.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that, if Shakur is ready to fight too, then he should fight him. It\u2019s a huge fight, a fight that will sell a lot of pay-per-views.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

In terms of a prediction, Benavidez then went on to state that he believes \u2018King Ry\u2019 would put an end to Stevenson\u2019s unbeaten streak.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think so [Ryan can win]. Ryan beats him.<\/p>\n

It won\u2019t be easy because Shakur uses his feet very well and has very good defence too. It\u2019s going to be a difficult fight, but it could be a very good fight.\u201d<\/p>\n
