{"id":658235,"date":"2026-06-25T22:08:10","date_gmt":"2026-06-25T22:08:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/658235\/"},"modified":"2026-06-25T22:08:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-25T22:08:10","slug":"nccc-news-amir-joins-for-remainder-of-vitality-blast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/658235\/","title":{"rendered":"NCCC News : AMIR JOINS FOR REMAINDER OF VITALITY BLAST"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Former Pakistan seamer Mohammad Amir has agreed a short-term deal to join Notts Outlaws for the remainder of the 2026 Vitality Blast.<\/p>\n<p>Left-arm quick Amir, 34, has claimed 425 career Twenty20 wickets at an average of just 22.63 and an overall economy rate of 7.36 per over, with a best return of 6\/17.<\/p>\n<p>He is a two-time international trophy winner, having lifted the 2009 ICC T20 World Cup and the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy with Pakistan, both of which were hosted in England.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really excited to have joined Notts. I\u2019ve heard lots of good things about this club, and I\u2019m looking forward to it,\u201d said Amir.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have lots and lots of memories at Trent Bridge, and I know that T20 is all about entertaining the people, so I\u2019ll be trying my best to do well for this team and make this crowd happy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe team have played the last three games really well, and I\u2019ll be trying to help carry that momentum forward throughout the tournament.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amir has won two trophies in English domestic cricket in his career, triumphing in the 2019 Vitality Blast with Essex and being part of Oval Invincibles\u2019 2024 The Hundred-winning squad.<\/p>\n<p>He also tasted success in his homeland when he won the 2020 Pakistan Super League with Karachi Kings, and has further global franchise experience in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u201cMo has a great skill set for both the powerplay and the end of the innings, as well as the mental strength to deliver under pressure, which has made him so valuable to teams around the world,\u201d added Notts Outlaws Head Coach, Peter Moores.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not the first time I\u2019ve been lucky enough to work with Mo, as our paths crossed in the PSL, when I coached Karachi Kings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, then he picked up an injury, which cut his tournament short, so I\u2019m hoping for better luck this time!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As a British passport holder, Amir will not be counted as an overseas player for the duration of his stay at Trent Bridge, which includes any potential knockout matches that Notts may play.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has great energy and passion to play, having experienced all the highs and lows our game can throw at you,\u201d continued Moores.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s this experience that will be invaluable to the team, as we move forward into the business and of the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are the sort of cricketers all teams need, with high skill and strong mental ability.
