{"id":658543,"date":"2026-06-26T02:05:33","date_gmt":"2026-06-26T02:05:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/658543\/"},"modified":"2026-06-26T02:05:33","modified_gmt":"2026-06-26T02:05:33","slug":"classes-for-adults-to-be-held-at-keighleys-new-arts-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/658543\/","title":{"rendered":"Classes for adults to be held at Keighley&#8217;s new arts centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">An arts centre which is being developed in a former department store will have space to help hundreds of adults learn new skills and qualifications.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Arts Centre Keighley is due to open later this year in the former Beale&#8217;s and Sunwin House building on Hanover Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It will provide a base for arts charity Keighley Creative and, as well as having exhibition, studio, performance and workshop space and a &#8220;street gallery&#8221;,  the venue will also have space for adult learning courses run by Keighley College.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Classes will include CV writing, digital and IT proficiency, English and maths, teaching assistant classes and more &#8211; along with an Access to Higher Education (Art and Design) Diploma.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">College Principal Kevin O&#8217;Hare said: &#8220;The Arts Centre Keighley will become a new &#8216;front door&#8217; to learning, creativity and opportunity in the heart of the town, bringing together education, culture and community under one roof.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We are thrilled to be a part of it.
