Ralf Schumacher believes Lewis Hamilton is not helping anyone with his actions at Ferrari.<\/p>\n
Suggesting Hamilton<\/a> has been \u201ccomplaining internally\u201d as well as \u201ccriticising\u201d Ferrari, Schumacher suggested Hamilton is perhaps \u201ctoo old\u201d at 40 to adapt to Ferrari machinery. Either way, he said the decision has long been made at Ferrari to put their eggs in the Charles Leclerc basket.<\/p>\n Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari: Can he turn it around?<\/p>\n Joining Ferrari was meant to be the realisation of a childhood dream for Hamilton as he chased an elusive eighth World Championship, but it is turning into a nightmare.<\/p>\n Hamilton is a 202-time visitor to the Formula 1 podium, a record tally, but he is yet to achieve such a result with Ferrari. Leclerc, meanwhile, has made the podium five times in F1 2025, and at the Hungarian Grand Prix, registered his and the team\u2019s first pole position of the season.<\/p>\n That coincided with Hamilton\u2019s season hitting a new low as he qualified and finished 12th at a venue where he has won eight times.<\/p>\n Hamilton had called himself \u201cuseless\u201d and told Ferrari to \u201cchange driver\u201d after he dropped out in Q2. After the race, he told the media, including PlanetF1.com that \u201cI have nothing else to say,\u201d when reunited with his suggestion.<\/p>\n Asked if he would definitely race for Ferrari at the Dutch Grand Prix, the first race back after the summer break, Hamilton added: \u201cI look forward to coming back\u2026 Hopefully I will be back, yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n But, Schumacher believes Hamilton\u2019s approach has not been productive for himself or Ferrari.<\/p>\n Furthermore, Schumacher \u2013 a winner of six grands prix \u2013 claims Leclerc is the horse Ferrari now backs.<\/p>\n \u201cI said before the season that this could go wrong,\u201d Schumacher told BILD<\/a>\u00a0of Hamilton\u2019s off-season switch.<\/p>\n \u201cRight now, I see a lot of drama with him. He\u2019s been criticising the team, complaining internally, struggling with the car \u2013 that doesn\u2019t help anyone.<\/p>\n \u201cThe car suits Leclerc, not him. Maybe he\u2019s too old to adapt. With new chassis and engine regulations on the way, there is the potential for a major shake-up to the pecking order, and perhaps opportunity for Hamilton to capture that eighth title.<\/p>\n
