Benfica star Andreas Schjelderup is the latest winger Liverpool have set their sights on as they wait on a deal for Yan Diomande to turn in their favour, according to reports.<\/p>\n
The Reds have already completed the signing of Victor Munoz from Osasuna this summer but that deal will not impact their attempts to bring in another winger this summer.<\/p>\n
Diomande has emerged as Liverpool<\/a>\u2018s main target this summer but a deal is in doubt as RB Leipzig attempt to convince the Ivory Coast international to stay for another season.<\/p>\n Liverpool have made a bid of \u20ac100m so far this summer but that was rejected by the Bundesliga side, who are looking to get as much as \u20ac130m for him.<\/p>\n Bringing an update on Thursday, The Daily Mail\u2018s Lewis Steele revealed that<\/a> it\u2019s likely that Leipzig will eventually be forced into letting Liverpool target Diomande go this summer, as the player currently wants to leave.<\/p>\n When asked if Leipzig and Liverpool could meet in the middle over Diomande, Steele replied:\u00a0\u201cThat is certainly what the player and his camp wants. How long can they hold on to their prized asset, though? The Reds have a strong relationship with the German side, having bought Ibrahima Konate and Dominik Szoboszlai from them in recent years.<\/p>\n \u201cWith Diomande up for the move, Liverpool making approaches and Leipzig resigned to selling, it all points in the direction of a deal being done. Patience might be needed.\u201d<\/p>\n Regarding alternatives to Diomande, Steele explained: \u201cThe Reds like Bradley Barcola of Paris Saint-Germain and France. Various accounts picked it up blindly without checking the source. This was never officially reported by any credible journalistic source. As things stand, there has not yet been a second offer.\u2019<\/p>\n
