{"id":660121,"date":"2026-06-26T22:34:13","date_gmt":"2026-06-26T22:34:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/660121\/"},"modified":"2026-06-26T22:34:13","modified_gmt":"2026-06-26T22:34:13","slug":"disney-reveal-new-lilo-scratch-animated-short","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/660121\/","title":{"rendered":"Disney Reveal New &#8220;Lilo &#038; Scratch&#8221; Animated Short"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today at the Annecy International Film Festival, Disney revealed that a brand new animated short called \u201cLilo &amp; Scratch\u201d will be released in cinemas this Thanksgiving, along with the new film, \u201cHexed\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>While little is known about the story of the short, bar it featuring a rescue cat, it will feature classic hand-drawn vibes blended with modern 3D animation.<\/p>\n<p>The short will feature the return of Chris Sanders as Stitch, along with Maia Kealoha, who played Lilo in the live-action version.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-250264\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" alt=\"\" width=\"1182\" height=\"1478\" data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/730854740_1591230442373806_2478676997247367089_n.webp\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This marks the first time Walt Disney Animation Studios has released a new animated short in five years, returning to a tradition that has delivered some fantastic shorts over the years.<\/p>\n<p>Releasing a new short featuring Stitch alongside the new film \u201cHexed\u201d is a great marketing ploy to help boost the box office numbers for \u201cHexed\u201d, which may struggle to pull in audiences, as new franchises, along with female-lead animated movies, sometimes fail to pull in enough moviegoers. Adding a short of one of the most popular Disney characters, is a fantastic way of giving \u201cHexed\u201d a little boost, while also offering Stitch fans a new adventure and giving Disney a chance to experiment with new talent and techniques.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHexed\u201d, along with \u201cLilo &amp; Scratch\u201d, will arrive in cinemas on November 25th 2026, and we should expect to see them both released on Disney+ in early 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Are you looking forward to watching \u201cLilo &amp; Scratch\u201d?
