Demand for an already popular wealth holding structure is set to surge after the government opened a loophole in its own plan to reduce tax minimisation by family trusts.<\/p>\n

Following a fierce backlash from estate planning lawyers, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese permanently exempted discretionary testamentary trusts<\/a> from the 30 per cent minimum tax rate on all other types of discretionary trusts that will start in 2028.<\/p>\n
