{"id":661081,"date":"2026-06-27T12:29:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-27T12:29:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/661081\/"},"modified":"2026-06-27T12:29:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-27T12:29:18","slug":"concrete-review-says-high-prices-reflect-realities-in-guernsey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/661081\/","title":{"rendered":"Concrete review says high prices reflect realities in Guernsey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Concrete prices in Guernsey are significantly higher than in the UK &#8211; but there is no evidence competition laws have been broken, a review says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Guernsey Competition and Regulatory Authority (GCRA) said it carried out the study following concerns from the Committee for Economic Development about rising constructions costs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">GCRA said the review focused on Ronez, Guernsey&#8217;s only supplier of ready-mix concrete, found prices reflected structural realities and costs of operating in a small island market rather than anti-competitive behaviour.
