British boxing legend ‘Hitman’ Hatton was found dead<\/a>\u00a0at his home in Hyde, Greater Manchester, in the early hours of Sunday, September 14, 2025. <\/p>\n An inquest at South Manchester Coroner’s Court later confirmed Hatton’s cause of death as hanging.<\/a><\/p>\n Hatton struggled with his mental health<\/a> towards the back end of his boxing career.<\/p>\n And sadly, Campbell has faced his own battles in recent years.<\/p>\n READ MORE ON BOXING <\/p>\n Before his father’s death, Campbell revealed his life was spiralling out of control after struggling to come to terms with the end of his own professional boxing career, and the loss of four close friends in the space of a few months.<\/p>\n Campbell turned to drink and drugs and was later admitted into rehab.<\/p>\n He confesses that he tried to take his own life a “couple of times” during his lowest point, and says he was living “without any consequences”.<\/p>\n “There was no thought to the future, and it’s a bit of [a] miracle that I am still here,” Campbell told ITV.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve spent time in rehab, and I was just off the rails.<\/p>\n \u201cThere was a six-month period where I lost four people who were really close to me. <\/p>\n 2<\/p>\n Campbell has turned his life around and is set to return to the ringCredit: Getty<\/p>\n “Even before, I\u2019d struggled to come to terms with retiring from boxing…<\/p>\n “When the police were breaking the news [of Ricky’s death], a lot of my family thought it [was] going to be about me – and it probably were [sic] not far wrong.
