Beloved character Denise Fox (Diane Parish) faces another reminder of just how quickly her life has changed in EastEnders soon, as she removes her head wrap in the middle of her cancer treatment.<\/p>\n
Denise has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia<\/a>, a particularly aggressive form of blood cancer\u00a0that requires urgent treatment<\/a>.<\/p>\n Reeling in the aftermath of this news, Denise decided to distract herself by supporting Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) following son Jordan\u2019s car accident.<\/p>\n But after\u00a0Jack Branning<\/a>\u00a0(Scott Maslen<\/a>) had\u00a0Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) urge her to begin treatment at once<\/a>, Denise broke down in the Vic and confided in her loved ones, revealing her diagnosis.<\/p>\n Denise told the kids that<\/a> she would be in hospital for a month once treatment got underway, revealing that she\u2019s made a rota for them to all help out around in the house in her absence, urging them to step up.<\/p>\n \t\t As her treatment continues, upcoming episodes will see Denise struggle in the middle of her isolation. This is a character who is always around her loved ones \u2013 being alone and in a hospital, unaware of everything that\u2019s going on back at home, is hitting her hard. <\/p>\n A couple of days later, Denise is supported by a nurse as she emotionally removes her head wrap for the first time. <\/p>\n Denise\u2019s treatment causes hair loss, so the removal of the head wrap and first look at how her appearance has changed is going to be a powerful, and yet devastating moment. <\/p>\n Fans have speculated that the heartbreaking storyline \u2013 which was penned to mark Denise\u2019s 20th anniversary on EastEnders \u2013 could have a tragic end.\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\t The character was mentioned in the flashforward episode earlier this year, which is set in 2027, but not seen.<\/p>\n Actress Diane Parish, who has played Denise for a whopping 20 years, recently reflected on her soap alter-ego\u2019s diagnosis, and what impact it will have on Denise\u2019s family moving forward.<\/p>\n \u2018There are many characters in this show and, as actors, we just tell their stories. You see that this isn\u2019t just happening to Denise, it\u2019s happening to everyone else who loves her, too.
