A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a vehicle hit multiple pedestrians on a busy London road before driving away, police have said.<\/p>\n
Five people were injured, including three who were later taken to hospital, during the incident in Ealing Broadway, Ealing, west London, at about 2.30pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Counter-terrorism policing London conducted initial inquiries, but it is not being treated as terrorism.<\/p>\n
A Somalia-born British man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and attempted murder, the Metropolitan police said.<\/p>\n
He was detained in nearby Grange Park \u201ca short time later\u201d, the force added.<\/p>\n
None of the injuries was life-threatening or life-changing. The two people who were not taken to hospital received treatment at the scene.<\/p>\n
Footage circulating online purporting to be from the incident appeared to show bystanders running alongside a white car, kicking it, and attempting to open the door on the driver\u2019s side before the vehicle sped up.<\/p>\n
The force said: \u201cDue to the nature of the incident, local officers were in contact with officers from counter-terrorism policing London as they conducted their initial inquiries.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile investigators are keeping an open mind as to any potential motive, the incident is not being treated as terrorism.<\/p>\n
