After more than a decade together, the former flames have allegedly called it quits, per Daily Mail<\/a>.<\/p>\n According to the outlet, Cox, 62, and McDaid, 49, amicably split late last year. Pals of their pair shared that the break-up wasn\u2019t \u201cugly,\u201d but that the duo was living \u201cdifferent lives.\u201d<\/p>\n One friend told Daily Mail, \u201cJohnny speaks incredibly highly of Cox. They had a very deep relationship and they remain extremely amicable. They are great friends and care about each other very much.\u201d<\/p>\n Page Six reached out to reps for Cox and McDaid comment.<\/p>\n The Snow Patrol musician and Friends star first met at a house party hosted by the latter in 2013.<\/p>\n \u201cI remember seeing Johnny and going, \u2018Oh, wow. He\u2019s really intense.\u2019 He\u2019s got the eyes, and he\u2019s playing the piano,\u201d Cox said.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I thought \u2018Oh he\u2019s really really handsome,\u2019\u201d Cox recounted while on The Howard Stern Show<\/a> in 2022.<\/p>\n By 2014, the Northern Irish singer popped the question to the Cougar Town star<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m engaged to him!\u201d Cox tweeted beneath a selfie at the time.<\/p>\n Several months later, in 2015, McDaid told People<\/a>, \u201cI just want to be with this woman for the rest of my life. That is all that matters. The ceremonies are academic.\u201d<\/p>\n However, by December 2015, Page Six had confirmed that the lovebirds called off their engagement.<\/p>\n At the time, a source told People<\/a>, \u201cThey\u2019ve been having problems for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n Cox and McDaid ended up reconciling in 2016, with the actress explaining that their romance felt \u201cdifferent\u201d the second time around.<\/p>\n
