{"id":66240,"date":"2025-08-14T11:22:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-14T11:22:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/66240\/"},"modified":"2025-08-14T11:22:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T11:22:07","slug":"citys-markets-offer-welcomes-new-additions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/66240\/","title":{"rendered":"City\u2019s markets offer welcomes new additions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>August is set to be a busy month for Liverpool\u2019s markets \u2013 with two new locations joining an ever-growing offer.<\/p>\n<p>Dovecot and Norris Green will host markets for the first time and join regular community markets at Allerton Hall and Lark Lane over the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The new events further confirm the council\u2019s commitment to enhancing the current offer, supporting local traders and providing markets that not only appeal to residents, but also become must-visit attractions for visitors spending time in the city.<\/p>\n<p>New markets for August are:<\/p>\n<p>Sunday 24 August \u2013 Liv Fest, Dovecot Park, Pilch Lane, L14 7QJ \u2013 11am-4pm<br \/>In partnership with the Olivia\u2019s Butterfly Foundation and local neighbourhood teams, the day will include rides, inflatables, dance performances alongside a 20-stall market featuring local traders selling a range of products including cakes, woodwork, clothing and much more.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday 31 August \u2013 Norris Green Community Market at Ellergreen Lifestyles Centre, L11 2XY \u2013 10am-4pm<br \/>Featuring around 20 stalls showcasing some of the best local traders including sweet treats, clothing, accessories and more, as well as community stalls and activities.<\/p>\n<p>Shoppers can also come along to the returning markets later in August:<\/p>\n<p>Saturday 23 August \u2013 Lark Lane L17 8UN \u2013 9am-2pm<\/p>\n<p>Saturday 30 August \u2013 Allerton Hall Farmers and Craft Market, Springwood Avenue L25 7UN \u2013 11am-4pm<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool City Council has developed an extensive markets offer \u2013 ranging from the weekly markets at Great Homer Street and the award-winning Stanley Park, to seasonal markets at St George\u2019s Hall and pop-up casual and farmers markets in several community locations.<\/p>\n<p>The council is also seeking to invest \u00a35m to <a href=\"https:\/\/liverpoolexpress.co.uk\/a-5-million-transformation-to-make-greatie-even-greater\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">expand the offer at Great Homer Street<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about Liverpool\u2019s markets, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/liverpool.gov.uk\/leisure-and-wellbeing\/markets\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Liverpool City Council website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool City Council\u2019s Cabinet Member for Culture Health and Wellbeing, Councillor Harry Doyle, said: \u201cThis approach is all about looking at what events are taking place in communities across the city, and seeing how we can incorporate our brilliant markets within this.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a really strong markets offer, but we know from talking to traders and customers that there is always the appetite for something new and fresh, and creative ideas can only improve what we currently have.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year we saw the huge success of Stanley Park Market which has now become a regular fixture in our calendar, and the introduction of new pop-up Christmas markets in the city centre was also very well received.
